Harnessing NLP
for Community
Participation
CHED - Leading the Advancement of Knowledge in Agriculture and Sciences (LAKAS) Program
Strengthening Community Participation through Digitalization
Through a range of innovative digital solutions, we bridge the gap between community members in various domains and create an inclusive environment for participation.
Disaster Risk Reduction - Climate Change Adaptation
Support local governments and various community sectors in formulating their community DRRM plans.
Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education
Ensure inclusivity and enhance the effectiveness of tertiary education system.
Stakeholders
Government agencies would serve as collaborators and partners in the deployment of BOSESKO in their respective areas and constituents. The results of which could hopefully later influence their policy-making activities and advocacy.
As end-users, communities are empowered to plan, act, and respond to context-based DRR-CCA and UAQTE related issues and concerns through an inclusive and user-friendly mobile application.
HEIs would be trained and capacitated in the field of AI-NLP to enable them to contribute towards enhancing technological knowledge and skills.
About Us

CHED-LAKAS (Leading the Advancement of Knowledge in Agriculture and Sciences) program is dedicated to advancing research and development in four key technology areas: Agriculture, Environment, Forestry, and Fisheries; Health and Nutrition; Science of Engineering; and National Quality Infrastructure. The program aims to propel Philippine higher education institutions towards becoming top-tier institutions, fostering innovation, driving economic development, and enhancing the country's international competitiveness.
The collaboration between the National University and Bicol University under the CHED-LAKAS initiative aims to enhance the BOSESKO (Building on Opinions and Sentiments for Sustainability and Knowledge Opportunities) participatory toolkit which is an inclusive, deliberative, and multilingual eParticipation toolkit for policy formulation specifically in Disaster Risk Reduction Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CA) and Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE. This collaborative effort will involve the exploration of cutting-edge methods in Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and machine learning to further enhance the capabilities of the toolkit.
